About Attune

Hello, I'm Eleanor.

I'm the founder of Attune, a Speech & Language Therapist with nearly 20 years' experience, and I'm passionate about helping children, families and schools better understand communication.

Throughout my career, I've worked with children and young people with a wide range of speech, language and communication needs, developing particular expertise in autism and sensory processing. I've had the privilege of working alongside families, schools and multidisciplinary teams to understand not only how children communicate, but how they experience and engage with the world around them.

I believe that meaningful support begins with understanding. Every child communicates differently, and by taking time to understand the whole child, we can build support that is practical, collaborative and focused on what matters most in everyday life.

Based in the Rostrevor/Newry area, South Co Down, Attune SLT works with children, families and schools across Northern Ireland.

Why Attune?

Attune reflects my approach to Speech & Language Therapy.

To attune means to become responsive to another person's needs, experiences and communication. Before meaningful support can begin, it's important to understand each child's unique strengths, challenges and the environments in which they learn, communicate and build relationships.

Rather than viewing communication in isolation, I take a holistic approach that considers the wider factors influencing participation, including sensory processing, relationships, environments and everyday experiences.

By building a shared understanding with families, schools and other professionals, we can develop practical strategies that make a real difference in everyday life.

What you can expect

Understanding first

Every child is unique. I take time to understand each child's communication, strengths, sensory profile and everyday experiences before making recommendations that are meaningful and individualised.

Working together

The best outcomes are achieved through collaboration. I work closely with families, schools and other professionals to build shared understanding and meaningful goals.

Evidence-informed

Assessment and intervention are guided by current research, clinical expertise and ongoing professional development, ensuring support remains relevant and effective.

Practical support

Recommendations should work in real life. My aim is to provide strategies that are realistic, achievable and easy to use at home, in school and in everyday situations.
